The beginning of the end

"Call her. Where is she?" Colin asked as they sped towards the airport.
"No one picked up the phone," Tyler remarked.
"What about Alyssa? She should be there," Colin said.
Tyler hesistated and Colin rolled his eyes. He did an emergency brake and both of them jolted from their seats.
"Why are you so afraid of calling Alyssa? I know she misses you," Colin said.
"How would YOU know? You're not Alyssa."
"True but I saw her around my house a few weeks ago. I didn't want to tell you cos I was having PMS and you made me pissed," Colin explained.
Tyler gasped and slapped his friend on the chest.

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier! Some friend."
"Hey... I'm telling you know ain't I? Just call her. She'll pick up," Colin urged and dialled the number on Tyler's phone.
It did ring. Then Tyler heard a familiar voice he almost thought he would never hear.
"Lyss.. It's Tyler."

Alyssa cupped the mouthpiece of the phone and gasped at Shayna who was waiting with her at the airport terminal.
"Oh my God. It's Tyler," Alyssa said, shocked.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Talk to him! Ask him about Colin too!" Shayna begged. "I wanna talk to him!"

"Hey Tyler. Where are you?" Alyssa asked.
"Colin and I are on the way to the airport. His lawsuit with Lila is over. He wants to see Shayna and stop her from getting married to Timothy," Tyler said, "... and I want to see you too. We need to talk."

Alyssa's heart melted, "Yes. We do need to talk. Shayna broke off the wedding too. We're waiting to board the flight back home. Shayna's parents are setting the matter with Timothy and his family. We'll be back in 12 hours."

Colin snatched the phone from Tyler, "Lyss, Colin here. I know you wanna talk to Ty but could I have a word with Shayna?"
"Colin?" Shayna's voice came through the phone. Colin's heart jumped in excitement.
"Shayna sweetie," he said.
"I'm not getting married to Timothy," she said.
"Come home soon. I love you."
"We will be back in 12 hours. Meet us at the airport will you?" Shayna asked.

That was what the boys did. They bought flowers and for the first time in a long while Colin showered, shaved, and dressed up to meet Shayna at the airport.
"Nervous?" Tyler asked as they patiently waitied at the arrival hall.
"Stupid question to ask.. duh!" Colin said, adjusting his tie.
"I can't believe it has come down to this," Tyler said, "I thought I would never see Alyssa again."
"Me too. I thought I lost Shayna forever."

"But I knew Alyssa would come back to me."
"So did I about Shayna."
"You fucking liar. You just said..."
"..whatever. I don't have time to argue with you," Colin spat. They then looked at each other's stupidity and clapped each other on the back. They were old buddies again.

Finally, the baggage pulled onot the belt and the passengers from the London flight were waiting for their baggage. Tyler and Colin eagerly looked around for the love of their lives.
"Shit! Where are they? Do you see them Ty?"
"No! What's keeping them?"
"This can't be happening!" Colin grumbled.

Then, they spotted the two girls emerging from amidst the crowd and they were happy to see Tyler and Colin that they ran out and hugged them.

"Tyler! I'm sorry. I should not have said those things!" Alyssa said, crying in joy.
"Me too. I should have been more understanding to your feelings. Will you forgive me?" Tyler asked.
Alyssa nodded and just hugged him tight. She would never want to let him go anymore.

Shayna looked into Colin's eyes. It was red and swollen.
"Are you alright? You look so tired," Shayna said, touching his face. Colin smiled and held onto her hand.
"I missed you so much. I thought I would never see you again," Colin said.
"I know... I... I guess it was all fated. You, me... after so long... look where it has brought us," Shayna smiled.
Colin scratched his head. "Yeah. Took me a long time to grow up too. I know I caused you so much hurt but..."
Shayna leant forward and kissed him. Colin wrapped his arms around her for the first time in months... savouring every second of their reunion kiss.


"Alright already! This is no soap drama!" Tyler laughed. Colin and Shayna smiled sheepishly. "Then again..." Alyssa said and reached over to kiss Tyler too. Everyone started to laugh.
